Today Andre Dawson was elected into the baseball Hall of Fame, the first line in the article in USA Today starts off saying “With a consistent career and impeccable reputation off the field on his resume, Andre Dawson was rewarded…”

A CONSISTENT CAREER & IMPECCABLE REPUTATION OFF THE FIELD!!!! Young athletes this is something to strive for! I remember I had a chance to meet Andre Dawson when he came to my pops barbershop, I remember he wanted me to go to the store and get a Pepsi for him, I will never forget it he pulled out a wad of money folded neatly in a shiny gold money clip with nothing but hundreds. He got change, gave me a 20, I went to the store got him a Pepsi which was only like a dollar and he let me keep the change, I remember he said where am I gonna put that and laughed.  The rest of the 20s he had he gave out to people in the shop like $40 went to Dave who washed his car in front of the shop.  

Anyway the moral of the story is what happened to brothers like Andre Dawson!!?? Real men, sound athletes, and stand up community figures!!?? This whole Gilbert Arenas situation has gotten me kinda heated, I can’t even watch Sports Center with my young boys without them hearing something stupid that one of their popular sports figures has done. But I won’t even get into all that, I just wanted to take a moment and CONGRATULATE AND SALUTE ANDRE DAWSON STAND UP GUY, ROLE MODEL AND CHICAGO CUB!!!!!!
